Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where do I turn in my homework?
A: You will be asked to create documents using Google Drive and share it with Mrs. Glazer by using mrsglazer@gmail.com. If it must be hand-written, you MUST turn in all homework and assignments in your period's basket. Don't put them in my hands. More than likely, I will lose it, and you will not like it!
Q: I need help with my homework or assignment, what can I do?
A: You can email Mrs. Glazer of schedule an appointment to come see her during lunch or after school. Please be considerate and give me enough advance notice; otherwise, I won't be able to help you.
Q: If I was absent and the absence was excused, when can I turn in my late work?
A: You have two extra days to turn in the work that was due on the day that you were absent. For example, if you were absent on Monday, you MUST turn in your work by Wednesday to receive full credit. This doesn't apply to any long-term assignments. For example, if a project was assigned on Monday and was due on Friday of that week, and you were in school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, you will receive significantly reduced points if you turn in your work the following Wednesday. You knew about the assignment! To receive full credit, you MUST submit it as soon as you get back to school. Also if your absence was planned - athletic events, field trip, etc. - your points will be reduced significantly for your lack of responsibility. Join the 21st century and email the assignment to me to avoid this hassle. If it is supposed to be turned in via Google Drive, the deadline is 11:59:59 P.M. on the due date.
Q: What if I forgot do my work? Can I turn in late work?
A: Yes, you can turn in your late work within two days of when the work is due to receive 1/2 credit. Let's say you forgot to do your work on Monday night, and it was due on Tuesday. You can get it done Tuesday night and turn it in by Wednesday to receive 1/2 credit.
Q: What if I forgot do bring my work to class? Can I still turn it in?
A: Yes, you can turn in your late work on the same day that it was due without losing any points up to three times. But Mrs. Glazer does reserve the right to deduct points. I loathe people who do homework during class and miss class instruction. Homework is to be done at home because it gives you an opportunity to practice what you have learned in class. When you do homework in class, you are showing me that you only care about amassing the points and do not care about learning. This displeases me more than anything. If you legitimately forgot to do it, just turn it in for reduced points the next day!
Q: I noticed that Mrs. Glazer didn't give me credit for the work that I turned in. What can I do?
A: You can bring the work back and regain the points. I usually stamp your work when I record your score. As long as you have the work that was stamped, you can receive full credit.
Q:What am I supposed to do with the work that I already received the points for?
A: You should keep all your work until you confirm your semester grade.
Q: Can I leave your classroom to go to the bathroom or to my locker during class?
A: I strongly discourage my students to do this; however, I will let you as long as you use the silent signal and I acknowledge the signal. I do not allow any student to leave the first and the last 10 minutes of class.
Q: What can I do if I was absent on the date that you gave a quiz?
A: You have 2 school days to make up the quiz that you missed. If you do not take the quiz within that time, you will receive a zero. Please be warned that you might have to take a quiz that is very different from the one your classmates took to prevent systematic cheating. These alternate versions will significantly be longer and more difficult for you.
